Hi, I’m Jaysón Davidson.
A Ph.D. candidate in the Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmacogenomics program at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF). Currently, I am a member of Dr. Atul Butte's lab, where we utilize Electronic Health Records to address clinical disease-related questions. My goal is to develop methods that can effectively stratify disease and drug response outcomes based on different social determinants in order to enhance healthcare quality and equity. My research primarily centers around the treatment utilization and health outcomes of Type 2 Diabetes patients within the UC-Health system.
At UCSF, I have been recognized as a UCSF-Stanford FDA CERSI Diversity scholar, NIGMS-IMSD program affiliate, UPSTREAM Research Center Fellow, Chancellor Awardee for Diversity Leadership, and UCSF BE-STEM Co-president.
My experiences have spanned various fields, including basic science, translational science, and now clinical computational science. As a first-generation scientist, I have navigated my career without a predetermined path but have successfully tackled scientific questions and pursued innovative research avenues that will have clinical implications in the future.
As a scientist I have geared my expertise as a clinical informaticist, STEM Advocacy, and public speaking by going out into the community and speaking on stages of all sizes about my research, journey in STEM, potential bias in AI, and increasing STEM representation.
